“Electronic commerce,” or “e-commerce” for short, is the practice of buying and selling goods over the internet and other electronic means. Some of the technologies used in e-commerce are supply chain management, internet marketing, mobile commerce, electronic money transfers, and automated data collection systems. Dr. Robert Jacobson was the first person to work in this field. He came up with the idea and made up the word.
